A Workshop on Inclusive Education and NEP 2020 with Paarangat School of Excellence by Prerna Kashyap

Paarangat School of Excellence successfully organized a Professional Learning workshop for Teachers on “Inclusive Education and NEP 2020” facilitated by Prerna Kashyap (Psychopedia x Inscape) under the theme “Building the Inclusive Classroom.”
The session focused on empowering teachers to create an equitable learning environment. Key topics included Legal Mandates & NEP 2020 – Zero Rejection Policy, Rights of Person with Disability ( RPwD ) Act 2016, and Socio-economic disadvantaged groups ( SEDGs) focus; understanding Integration vs. Inclusion; Identification of Children with Special needs in Clasroom- Visual, Hearing Impairment and Invisible Disabilities like Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia; Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Checklist covering physical environment, early identification, lesson adaptation with low-cost Teacher’s Learning Material (TLM) tools, and buddy system; and Inclusive Assessment & Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education ( HPBOSE) Guidelines including alternative questions, evaluation relaxation, scribe facility and extra time.
Objective of the workshop:
To sensitize and equip teachers with practical, low-cost strategies for early identification and classroom-level support, ensuring every learner belongs before they achieve, in alignment with NEP 2020’s vision of equitable education.
Outcome:
Teachers were equipped to apply one inclusive practice immediately and foster zero tolerance for bullying. The workshop concluded with a collective commitment to build a classroom where everyone belongs.
