Stress is something which helps us to wake up in the morning. Stress is of two types positive and negative for example loss of loved ones, brother marriage, exam stress. if you’re under stress for a long time, you can have physical symptoms, such as headaches, high blood pressure, chest pain, and problems with sleep. Stress can also lead to emotional problems, depression, panic attacks, or other forms of anxiety problems.
Stress actually begins to your brain. For instance-chronic stress is being overworked or argument at home can affect brain size, structure. Stress begins with something called hypothalamus pituary gland axis a series of interaction between endocrine glands in a brain and on kidney which control the reactions to stress. When your body detects any stressful situation, then HPA Instantly activated and release cortisol hormone which helps body for instant action but if higher level of cortisol remains for longer period of time cause a great damage on your brain. If there is high in cortisol electrical signals in your hippocampus which is associated with learning, memories and stress control deteriorate. Cortisol can seriously cause brain to shrink in size. Too much of its result in the loss of synaptic connection neurons and shrinking of your prefrontal cortex that regulates behaviour like concentration, decision making. Stress also affect heart which results in high BP because heart contraction increases and blood vessels tighten up to get blood and throwing around the body a little faster in order to support organs and tissue. Blood vessels respond to this distension by building up more muscles and becoming bit more rigid and its lead to vicious cycle of elevating. When we get tensed or any stressful situation a control in the body called hypothalmus to instruct body to release stress hormone. People under chronic stress are at higher risks for all kinds of ailments like heart, auto immune disease. Chronic stress might make it harder for you to learn and remember new things and we cause mental problem like depression. Here some of the symptoms of chronic stress are-

Nervous system – when we are in stress body shift into fight or flight response to release adrenaline and cortisol. These hormones increase glucose in blood stream, increase blood pressure and heart rate got so faster.
Respiratory system – sometimes stress makes you breathe harder which cause lung disease, and also lead to panic attack in individual.
Cardiovascular system-stress increased the blood pressure and heart rate, making the heart work harder to produce the blood flow needed for bodily function. This often lead to heart attack.
Reproductive system – stress can impair testrosterone and sperm production can cause impotence, and also stops or disturbance in menstrual cycles.
Gastrointestinal system– stress cause gastrointestinal issue like constipation, diarrhea, indigestion or an upset stomach also cause vomiting, pain, acid reflux and heartburn.
Various strategies have been successful in treating stress. Moderate stress can be relieved by exercise, meditation and change in diet whereas Chronic stress is relieved by the help of therapies and medicines.
So, don’t defeated by pressure of daily life. Get in control of your stress before it takes the control of you.
