When I first started preparing for the UGC NET exam I had no idea what I would be getting into. I was clueless about everything from the syllabus to the exam pattern to the marking scheme. I decided to join a coaching institute and am so thankful to Psychopedia beacuse I attribute an extremely huge part of my success to them.
Divya ma’am and Aashna ma’am helped guide me and inspired me to work hard and keep believing in myself.
The UGC examination tests your conceptual clarity and according to me, the only way to clear it is to have a very strong hold on your subject. You don’t have to study from 10 books to qualify. All you need to do is take one good psychology book and understand each topic thoroughly.
This is how Psychopedia helped me. Each and every topic was picked up and taught with extreme detail. The environment in the classroom was very healthy for learning, which only made it easier for me to sit and study for 5-6 hours constantly without even realising how long I’d been at it. I learned a few tricks like, study for 25 minutes, take a 3 minute break then study for another 25. Do this 4 times and then take a longer break. Sacrifice the weekend parties and the brunches, it’s worth it.
Try solving old question papers to get accustomed to the exam and learn to manage your time. Solving old papers will help you learn how you get a very good idea of how you will perform in the actual exam. Whatever the pattern is, solve it in the same pattern so you can identify your weaknesses and work on them. Some people are unable to finish their exam, work on that, if you’re not sure of an answer, let it be, circle back to it at the end and then give it a final go.
Preparing for this exam can be extremely stressful and hectic and it is important to remember to breathe, stay motivated and to believe in yourself.
Give it your 100% and the results will follow!
